The search engines have to know your site, you have to have links from other (related) websites pointing to your site and so on.

But there is one thing you can do.

Send out e-mails to your entire e-mail distribution list and tell them about your site and why they should go there. Often a business has lots of business cards collected from various networking and social meetings. Why not use that as you e-mail list?
We know it works. Just make that email interesting for the recipient to click the link leading to your website.

Oh, and one important thing : If you get responses FOLLOW UP. Quite often this responses get wasted by not answering them immediatly!
